“Breath” Sample Scene I

Intro Breath

This is one of the first scenes I storyboarded for Breath, the story of a woman who one day is able to see her breath, which helps her get over a difficult day. The purpose of the scene is to test our main concept:

What if breath was visible, and it took the shape of a bird?

Boarding this also lead to finding endearing moments between the pair, and iconic visual moments. Side note: these boards were done just for me and my team while we were trying to work quickly, so some drawings are more on the rougher side.

“Breath” Sample Scene II

Act 1

In this scene, we set up Lolo as a working professional who has trouble breathing during stressful situations.

In Story+Edit, we were trying to find the tone to make our hero’s plea relatable and, hopefully, visceral - while striking the right balance between comedy, irony, surrealism and a little bit of magic.
